A COMMUNITY FESTIVAL SEPTEMBER 25-27, 2020

The award-winning Arlington 20/20 community transformation initiative is hosting a three-day festival to celebrate the past and present and envision the future of Arlington.

The health and safety of the Arlington community is our top priority. In consultation with city officials and the local health department, we have designed all events to accommodate social distancing and/or virtual participation. Please see below for complete details.

Celebrate Arlington!

The Arlington 20/20 Steering Committee, comprised of over 25 faith-based, nonprofit, corporate, and government partners, as well as community residents, is in a unique position to host this festival that will celebrate progress and highlight what makes Arlington a great place to live, work, and play. This signature event will be a valued addition to life in Arlington, contributing to neighbors’ sense of connection and community pride.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 25

Virtual 20/20 Vision Summit

Facilitator: Dr. Rudy F. Jamison, Jr., University of North Florida

At this interactive virtual town hall, a distinguished panel will highlight practical strategies for inclusive development. Attendees will engage virtually to identify their priorities and ideas for Arlington’s future.

Virtual event begins at 5:30 p.m. Attendees will receive the livestream login information a week before the event via email.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 26

Celebrate Arlington! 5k

Runners can participate virtually or in-person. The virtual 5K option allows runners to receive their packets in the mail and complete the run at any location of their choice. Runners may switch to the virtual 5K option for any reason, at no extra cost to the participant.

The professionally chip-timed 5K will wind through the streets of historic Arlington, starting and ending at the new College Park shopping center. Safety protocols for the in-person race are outlined in detail on the race registration site.

After the race, the Arlington Council JAX Chamber will host the College Park Mural ribbon cutting.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 26

Virtual Sock Hop and Awards Gala

This night to remember will feature, dancing, music, a signature mocktail demonstration, a silent auction, and awards to honor distinguished residents and friends of Arlington. The program will be held virtually and streamed live! The ticket price includes a delicious, gourmet catered dinner, which you can pick up before the event and enjoy at home. Funds raised will support Arlington health, education, and workforce programs.

Virtual event begins at 6:00 p.m. Attendees will receive the livestream login information and instructions to pick up their meal a week before the event via email.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 27

Celebrate Arlington! Drive-In Family Picnic

Neighbors are invited to enjoy free food, music and fun. Drive through to pick up your free cookout meal, then park and listen to great music from the mainstage and DJ! Or simply take your food home to savor.

This free socially distant picnic will take place from 3-6 p.m. in the parking lot of Impact Church, 9501 Arlington Expressway (Regency Square Mall facing Arlington Expressway).

Celebrate Arlington! sponsors will be featured on all print communications, in select social media posts, on race and festival t-shirts, and in announcements during all festival events. Presenting Sponsors will have the opportunity to speak briefly during the gala. Presenting, Cosmo Circle, and Flying Ace Sponsors may receive up to ten complimentary tickets for the Celebrate Arlington! Gala and Awards. All sponsors may provide promotional items for race packets and may exhibit at the race.
